"Bigfoot" Project

Some original roughs, when I had no idea what I was doing or where I was going.
 When I was getting closer.
When I was figuring out body shapes

The face I chose. References? Pete Townshed droopiness. Mostly because this guy has to be lovable

Anglerfish Sketch Comp

Transferred to the watercolor paper, it's waiting for me to paint it.

Dinosaur Bob Wallet

My friend's birthday is coming up, and I finished up this wallet for him. He loves Dinosaur Bob so I thought it would be nice for him to be able to carry it around wherever he goes.

That crease on the right of the wallet is very bothersome to me, but at least it happened just once.

I hope he likes it

Shao Bing Dragon Four

It made me cringe a little to put this up. As you can see from my past dragon posts, it is difficult for me to purposely saturate my colors. I like darks and I like shadows. But I know the food truck should be something that catches people's attention. So I pushed it and this was my extent. It displeases me to no end.

Shao Bing First Painting

This is the first painting I did for the food truck design. I wanted to figure out the colors on the dragon. I think it's a little dark... the colors aren't as attention-grabbing as an image on a truck should be. As an illustration, I'm pretty glad about the way it turned out. Halfway through, I was really starting to hate it, but turned out okay.

Next painting will be lighter, minimal colors, and brighter for attention grabbing purposes, but not too condiment-y.

A is for Angler fish

I've decided to illustrate and/or write an alphabet book about fish, and just fish. Actually, maybe not just fish, but underwater animals that don't need to come up for air. None of that "C is for Clownfish and D is for Dolphin" fusion. And I'm having lots of fun. Mostly because these Ive chosen what will be in the book instead of the disappointment I feel when "S is for Seal" and not Seahorse in books I've seen.

So A for Angler fish. I love Angler fish.

The two main compositions I've come up with is a grandmother Angler fish reading a story to her grandkids, and an Angler fish date (which if he's chosen will be the last time his body is completely visible). I think I'm learning more toward the grandmother.

Still debating whether to accompany illustrations with poems or to leave it with just the letter A on the other side.
These sketches above were the ones I put aside because I didn't feel they looked as grandmother-like as the ones below. I DO like the third one though. Very headmistress-y.
These sketches I'm choosing from. Once I figure it out, I'll sketch them in the pose for the page.

Food Truck Design Second Group

My client asked if I could make the dragon cuter, as cute as the very first sketch I had made, so I've sketched some roughs so she could choose between them before I start finalizing the drawing.

My favorites are the second sketch, and the last two, but I guess I'll see which one will be chosen.

Food Truck Design First Group

This is the first batch of sketches I made, in order from the one I like the least to the one I like the most. They're also in chronological order.

Some may look the same, but they have very small differences; maybe a tail or a neck that I liked from another drawing, and the changes were easy to make because they were on tracing paper

My two favorites: top and bottom.

Food Truck Design Roughs

I've been asked by a good friend of mine to make some illustrations to go on her mother's food truck.

Very rough sketches and thinking about composition
